FAQ
Straightforward answers, so you can get back to bath time. If yours isn't here, just ask us.
Using Meeju
Is Meeju suitable for newborns?
Yes. Meeju is made for delicate, sensitive skin, and both formulas are fragrance-free, pH balanced and dermatologist tested. For very young or newborn skin we'd still suggest a quick patch test first, and if you're unsure, have a chat with your pharmacist or GP.
Can I use it every day?
Yes, that's exactly how it's made to be used. Bubbly Bub and Tangle Tamer are pH balanced and gentle enough for everyday bath time, without leaving skin or scalp feeling dry.
What about sensitive?
Gentle is our whole thing, and plenty of little ones with sensitive skin use Meeju every day. We can't claim to treat skin conditions, so if your child has a diagnosed one, patch test first and check with your doctor. And if it doesn't suit them, our 30-day money-back guarantee has you covered.
How do I patch test?
Apply a small amount to a patch of skin on the inner forearm, rinse it off, and leave it 24 hours. If there's no redness or irritation, you're good to go.
How much should I use?
Less than you'd think. One pump is plenty for a baby, two for an older child with longer hair. Both formulas lather easily, so a little goes a long way.
Can I use the body wash on hair, or the shampoo on skin?
You can, and nothing bad will happen. But they're formulated for different jobs. Tangle Tamer has oat and betaine to help hair comb through more easily, which is why we made it separately.
Is it tear-free?
We don't make a tear-free claim, because we haven't run the eye irritation testing that claim requires. Like any wash, keep it away from the eyes, and rinse with clean warm water if it gets in.
Is it suitable for curly or thick hair?
Yes. Tangle Tamer cleans gently without stripping, and the rice protein and vitamin B5 help hair feel softer and easier to comb, which tends to matter most with curls and knots.
Can adults use it too?
Absolutely. Plenty of parents tell us they've started using Bubbly Bub themselves. It's gentle enough for the whole family.
Ingredients and safety
Is it fragrance-free?
Yes. We skipped added fragrance altogether, so there's less chance of irritation on sensitive little skin.
What does dermatologically tested mean?
It means our formulas were tested by an independent laboratory on a group of people, including those who identified themselves as having sensitive skin, to assess for irritation and redness. No irritation was observed during the test. Every little one’s skin is different, so reactions are still possible, but this testing adds another layer of reassurance behind every bottle.
Do Meeju products contain preservatives?
Yes, because water-based products need protection from bacteria and mould, which can grow once a bottle is opened and sitting in a steamy bathroom. We use sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate - preservatives widely used in skincare and also used in food. Leaving them out wouldn’t make Meeju gentler - it would make it unsafe.
Does it contain oat or gluten?
Tangle Tamer Shampoo contains oat (Avena Sativa Kernel Meal). Bubbly Bub Body Wash does not. If your child has a known oat or gluten sensitivity, check the full list on our Ingredients page and speak with your doctor first.
Does it contain nuts?
Both formulas contain coconut-derived ingredients. Coconut isn't a true tree nut and most people with nut allergies tolerate it, but if your child has a diagnosed nut allergy, check with your doctor before using. Neither formula contains peanuts or tree nuts.
What's actually in it?
Every ingredient in both formulas is listed and explained in plain English on our Ingredients page, including the ones that are there for safety rather than skincare. Nothing is left off.
Is it vegan and cruelty free?
Yes. Both formulas are vegan, and we don't test on animals.
What's the Yuka score about?
Yuka is an app people use to scan products and see what's really in them, independently of what the brand says. Bubbly Bub and Tangle Tamer both scored 93 out of 100. We didn't mark our own homework.
